The American College of Chest Physicians conducted a study on smoking cessation methods, which revealed significant findings on the effectiveness of hypnosis. The results showed that at 26 weeks post-hospital discharge, the success rate of quitting smoking was equal between patients who used only hypnotherapy and those who used both hypnotherapy and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), with each group showing a 50% success rate. In contrast, only 25% of patients in the control group, who did not receive any such treatments, and 15.78% of patients who used NRT alone were able to quit smoking.
