You are always in control of the session. The Professional Hypnotist is just there to facilitate the trance and give you carefully worded suggestions and ideas. It is a joint effort between the Professional Hypnotist and your subconscious mind.

You cannot become stuck in hypnosis. If a situation arises that you need to come out of trance state in a hurry you will do so and even if the Professional Hypnotist left you in the room by yourself you would still come out of trance naturally on your own.

It is a myth that only weak controllable people can be hypnotized, on the contrary, the more intelligent a person is, the easier it is for him to be hypnotized. Concentration, imagination and visualization help to facilitate hypnosis.

You are not unconscious or asleep during a hypnosis session. At all times during the course of a hypnotic session, you will be able to hear and to think. You are aware of what is going on around you. Although your body is very relaxed, your mind is actually more alert than normal.

Under hypnosis, you cannot be made to reveal your deep secrets. Hypnosis is not a truth serum.

Hypnosis is not dangerous. Hypnosis is a safe and natural process. We already go in and out of trance on a daily basis.

You are not asleep during hypnosis. You are deeply relaxed and calm while in hypnosis.

Hypnosis is often misunderstood. Once you feel it, the apprehension goes away. Hollywood’s cliché “Look into my eyes” and the stage performance “cluck like a chicken” have sometimes misrepresented hypnosis and it’s value to help change your life.

Some people doubt hypnosis because they themselves have not experienced its benefits. And there is a tendency for the conscious mind to judge new unfamiliar ideas harshly. Once someone experiences hypnosis for themselves, they know how affirmative and life changing it is.

Some people fear the unknown. Others are afraid of being vulnerable. Some have a notion that hypnosis will force them to “go out of control” and then they will reveal some buried truth that they’re “not supposed to.” Or that they lose control. Or, even worse, look foolish.

While in trance your inner wisdom is your guide and that wise part of yourself will tell you the truth. Such truthful insights are a tremendous relief. And, no need to worry; your subconscious mind only reveals what you choose to reveal. In a trance, any suggestion that violates morals or self preservation is not accepted by the subconscious.
